We know so many of you are keen to share your love of Sarah Morgan and her books, so for the first time ever we’re hosting a festive readalong. Join us everyday from Monday 5th December until Sunday 11th where we’ll be sharing on Instagram stories handy discussion points that are perfect for book club and buddy reading!

Day 1

Section 1 (Beginning – p.67)

What are your first impressions of the Millers’ family dynamics? What do you think of the relationship between the siblings in particular?

Day 2

Section 2 (p.68-125)

Her mother-in-law had always been strong and fierce. This show of introspection and self-doubt was unlike her.‘ Why do you think Nanna Jean has started to look back on her life in this way? What might she be worried about?

Day 3

Section 3 (p.126-189)

How would it feel to be part of that family? How would it feel to be questioned, and argued with, and interrupted by people who had known you your whole life and loved you? To know that you were spending Christmas in this beautiful house, surrounded by family?’ Which aspects of the Millers’ family life do you think Lucy is most envious of? And how does this envy compare to the reality of what their family life is truly like?

Day 4

Section 4 (p.190-250)

Clemmie tells her family about her decision in this section. Why do you think her mother is worried about her decision? Is Glenda right to be concerned? Discuss all the different ways an individual can become a parent.

Day 5

Section 5 (p.251-291)
